The governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley, has called a meeting of racing leaders representing tracks and horsemen for Monday afternoon
.
Both Penn National and the Maryland Jockey Club, who may or may not be co-owners of Pimlico and Laurel, have been asked to attend.
And from Austria comes consoling news. Frank Stronach told John Scheinman, reporting for Thoroughbred Times, that “I will come down to Maryland next week, We’ll try to find common ground. It has to be done quickly.”
