The Meadows Introduces New Wager

When The Meadows kicks off its 2010 season on Monday, January 11, it will introduce a daily Pick 6 wager with a guaranteed $6,000 pool

.

The Pick 6, which replaces the Pick 4, will begin with the sixth race of each live card. Should any Pick 6 pool fall short of the $6,000 guarantee, The Meadows will make up the difference. When no player picks the correct Pick 6 combination, 80 percent of the pool will be carried over to the next Pick 6, with the balance distributed to bettors with the most wins in Pick 6 races.

The Pick 6 highlights a 2010 wagering menu that also features:

  • Win, Place, Show, Exacta and Trifecta wagering on every race;
  • Two Pick 3 wagers beginning on Race 3 and Race 9. On cards with at least 14 races, a third Pick 3 will start on Race 12. In any Pick 3 where no bettor picks the correct combination, the entire pool will be paid out on Pick 3 tickets with the most wins.
  • Two Superfectas — on Race 7 and the final race of each card.
  • Two Daily Doubles — an Early Double on the first two races, a Late Double on the last two.
  • $1 box, wheel and key wagers on all exotics. Otherwise, the minimum bet is $2.

The Meadows will offer four live cards per week in January. Post time Monday-Wednesday is 12:55 p.m. while Friday cards begin at 3:55 p.m.
