Tuesday (Dec. 27) evening's Preferred Pace feature at The Raceway at the Western Fair District saw Roll With The Flow brave a first-over trip for most of the mile to win the winner's share of the $13,000 purse.
Roll With The Flow was the second choice as he rolled to the gate in post position two with Travis Henry at the controls. As the gate pulled away, there were heavy leavers from the center and outside while Roll With The Flow tucked into the rail third. The opening quarter was tapped in :27.2 with Cheddar Bay (J Harris) on top. Roll With The Flow rushed to the top through the half in :57.3, but was unable to clear as the three-quarters was reached in 1:25.3. Around the final turn, Cheddar Bay looked to be the winner, but Roll With The Flow gave one final push steps before the wire to win by a nose in 1:55.3. Cheddar Bay secured second as Bayfield Beach (Tyler Borth) flew up the outside to grab third.
Roll With The Flow is a three-year-old Blake MacIntosh trainee by Roll With Joe, out of the Artsplace mare Streisands Place. Hutt Racing Stable, Middlebrook Racing L P and MacIntosh co-own the winner of eight career races and $173,708. Roll With The Flow has dominated in his sophomore year, earning $157,658 with a record of 6-3-4 in 21 starts.
MacIntosh sent three horses to the track on Tuesday's card at the Western Fair District and met each of the three in the winner's circle including Roll With The Flow ($6.30), Ima Standup Guy ($7.10) and Better Be Gouda ($3.40).
