Trainer Sebastien Giroux went into Thursday’s card at Rideau Carleton Raceway sporting a solid UTR of .365, and a four-win performance helped him push that number to .371 by the end of the night

.

Giroux, who holds down fourth spot among Rideau's leading trainers this season, watched Uncle Goodfellow get the ball rolling with a 1:58.4 score in Race 3. Pirate Of Peru (2:00.2) did his part to contribute to Giroux’s big night thanks to his nose decision in Race 8. Delta Dental (2:00.4) drilled the competition by three lengths in Race 9, and stablemate Speedy Samadhi (2:01.3) drew off to win by a pair of lengths in Race 10 to complete Giroux’s Grand Slam.

After sending out more than 100 winners in each of the last two seasons, Giroux will have an outside chance of accomplishing that feat for the third consecutive year. He currently sits with 89 wins this season, with more than $522,000 in the bank to go with it.
