The winning streak is now three-in-a-row and counting for the Ian Downey-trained Indiana Hall, who captured Monday’s co-featured $14,800 Preferred Trot

at Western Fair Raceway.

With Robert Shepherd at the controls, Indiana Hall got away fourth from his second tier starting spot before latching onto cover and tripping out behind the battling tandem of Long Ago and Bank President. Shepherd and the public’s top choice used a :29.4 final frame to rally to the 1-1/4 length triumph over Long Ago in 1:59. Dashing Earl tagged along to finish third.

S S G Stables of North Boston, NY own the seven-year-old son of Striking Sahbra, who has put together a 6-2-3 record from 32 trips to the track this season. The lion’s share of Monday’s purse boosts the O.S.S. graduate’s overall bankroll to $586,376.

The co-featured Preferred Pace class was split into a pair of divisions due to an abundance of entries, with Bob Watts and Monster In Law pulling off mild upsets in their respective $14,800 assignments.

Bob Watts took over command at the mid-way point in the first of the two Preferred Pace tilts, and once he cleared it was game over. Scott Zeron mapped out the winning trip for the Rick Zeron-trained four-year-old son of Real Desire, who held off runner-up Cuban Seelster and third-place finisher Oakley Seelster.

The gelding, who is owned by David Kryway of Amherstburg and the Meadowbranch Stables of Lynden, ON, is 4-for-24 on the season. He has stashed away in excess of $157,000.

Monster In Law, who was let go at odds of 5-1, used his patented closing kick to perfection en route to sweeping rivals and winning in a time of 1:57. Alfie Carroll worked out the off-the-pace triumph with the Don Beatson-trained gelding, who prevailed by a head over Allamerican Motive. Surrealist did the road work and wound up fading late to finish third.

The five-year-old son of Northern Luck is owned in partnership by Don Beatson of Granton, Ken Beatson of Palgrave along with Sandra and Ralph Pitt of Cargill, ON. It was the eighth victory of the season and the 19th lifetime tally for Monster In Law, who owns a lifetime cash stash totaling $282,074.

Call Me Yours also used last second heroics to take home weekly bragging rights in the $12,600 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace. The five-year-old daughter of Your Nemesis, who was last at the mid-way point of the mile, used a :28.3 final quarter to kick away to a 1-1/2 length score over Stonedust Cammy in 1:57. Lady Latte set the pace and faded to finish third.

Sent off at odds of 6-1, the mare won for the sixth time this season from 27 trips to the track for owner/breeder/trainer Stephen Gillard of Tavistock, ON. She has banked $334,557 in her career.
