Iwontdothatagain ($5.40) took his show on the road and extended his win streak to six in the $50,000 final of the Jim Vinnell Memorial Pace on Friday night (December 1) at Fraser Downs.

Trained and driven by Alberta-based horseman Kelly Hoerdt, the six-year-old Stonebridge Regal-Island Nessie gelding followed up his 1:52.3 lifetime-best victory in the eliminations two weeks ago with a 1:53.2 triumph over a sloppy track.

Longshot Sterling Cooper forged to the front ahead of Illwinifican while Iwontdothatagain, from post eight, settled in third. After opening panels of :27 and :55.3, the streaking 8-5 favourite progressed to confront the leader past three-quarters in 1:24 and took over command in the stretch. He crossed the wire two and a quarter lengths in front of Illwinifican, with Comes Home First coming on for third.

Iwontdothatagain earned his 17th win of the year to go along with five seconds and one third from 26 starts. He is now one of six horses in North America with 17 or more wins in 2017. A $4,000 claim in January at Northlands Park, Iwontdothatagain has banked more than $110,000 on the year for the Hoerdt and co-owner Ed Keryliuk of Edmonton.
