Ross Wolfenden had a ‘good feeling’ Tuesday evening when driving trotter Good Feeling, who crossed the finish line first in the sixth race at Dover Downs. The win marked the 6,000th lifetime victory for the transplanted New Zealander.

“I wanted to come to [the USA] because there is more opportunity to race here. Back home, there aren’t many tracks or races to compete,” remarked the popular Wolfenden who has regularly been among the top three drivers at Delaware raceways. Wolfenden’s record win came piloting Kathleen Brewer’s Good Feeling to a 1:58.4 victory in a Delaware $7,500 claiming trot.

In the feature, $20,000- $25,000 Claiming Handicap pace, Trace Tetrick won his first of two steering Little Ben, an altered soph son of Jeremes Jet-Honeys Bud Lite, home in a lifetime fastest 1:53 for trainer Jim King and owners Janet Hudson and Joann King. Star Recruit (Corey Callahan) was second ending a three-race win streak. Just Bettor (Vic Kirby) was the show horse.

Allan Davis led all drivers with four winners on the card. Ross Wolfenden had three wins while Trace Tetrick and Vic Kirby had doubles.
