Summerside Grandstand Deal Imminent

Reports from Prince Edward Island indicate that the long-awaited deal for Summerside Raceway's grandstand renovations may not be too far off.

Terry Murphy, chief administrative officer for Summerside, told the Journal Pioneer that the project has been progressing over the past few weeks.

“We’re at the final steps of reaching an agreement with Atlantic Lotto to build a new grandstand,” said Murphy. “We’re working with the federal government to upgrade other facilities.”

The city is said to be seeking in the $3 million range for grandstand renovations and other upgrades.
