Mauricia Taylor earned her first career training win on Saturday (Dec. 19) night at Flamboro Downs after her pacer Macktwowilldew defeated the even-money favourite in a photo finish during the the eighth race.
Macktwowilldew rallied home from the backfield and edged out the popular pacesetter, Toucam Sam, by a head in 1:58.3, with Tartes Legacy finishing a close third. The Mach Three gelding, who was driven by Alfie Carroll, paid $38.10 for the 18-1 upset in the $5,000 claiming class.
Taylor, a 24-year-old resident of Williamsford, Ont., acquired Macktwowilldew via a $4,000 claim at Hanover Raceway in early July.
