Trot Insider has learned that harness racing's fastest aged female pacer Put On A Show has been officially retired.

Put On A Show had been entered next Wednesday in the Mares Open Handicap Pace at Harrah's Philadelphia to make the final start of her career, but her connections announced late Saturday night that the five-year-old Rocknroll Hanover-Stienams Place mare will not race due to soreness and will be scratched.

Put On A Show will be bred to Somebeachsomewhere in 2013.

Trained by Chris Ryder and owned by Craig Henderson and Richard and Joanne Young, Put On A Show put together a career record reading 31-9-2 in 50 starts while earning $2,459,903 in purses. She boasts a world record mark of 1:47.3 taken in the Lady Liberty at Meadowlands Racetrack this past August and set an earnings record of $1.94 million during her two and three-year-old campaigns.
