After a disappointing summer campaign in which she only managed one win, Crys Dream rebounded for a hard-fought victory in the 2011 Matron Stakes at Dover Downs one month ago. Where is she now?
Reports from Europe indicate that Crys Dream and stablemate Iron Lady will now head to France under the care of part-owner and breeder Jean-Pierre Dubois to prepare for four-year-old campaigns.
Both mares could be pointed for the Drottning Silvias Pokal, or Queen Silvia's Trophy, a 1-1/3 mile race for four-year-old mares held around mid-May and raced at Åby Racetrack in Sweden.
Dubois has also reportedly relocated the sire of those two trotting fillies. Taurus Dream, who had stood stud in Ontario in 2011 for $8,000 will be standing in Sweden for the 2012 harness racing season.
Despite an abysmal summer, Crys Dream managed to amass a sophomore record of 13-6-1-3 while banking more than $671,000. Because of the Class 2 positive test that sent shockwaves throughout the industry in late June, Crys Dream is not eligible for O'Brien Award consideration.
