Ramegade Bruiser showed no mercy to the five rivals he squared off with in Saturday evening’s $50,000 Open Pace at Woodbine Racetrack.
On the lead at every interval, the five-year-old son of Rambaran romped to a six-length score in a time of 1:50.1 for the duo of driver Mark MacDonald and owner/trainer Dave Brown of Cannington, ON.
The gelding jetted to immediate command and had the field tracking him through splits of :26.1, :54.4 and 1:23 before slipping home in :27.1 to seal the deal. Zooka was second best behind the 2-5 favourite and Whippet Good rallied to finish third.
The victory was the 12th of the season and the 31st lifetime tally for Ramegade Bruiser, who has stashed away $308,070 this year and more than $631,000 in his career.
