Well Did's strategy on Sunday (Dec. 11) was well done in order to catch and overtake the leading heavy favourite in the featured Winners Over Pace at Truro Raceway.

A winner of the $2,500 top class last week, American Risk (Darren Crowe) went to his outside post as the bettors' choice. Second choice Well Did took position in post two with Paul Langille on board. As the gate pulled away, American Risk hit the gas to clear to the top first. Privilege (Robert Laffin) moved into second, Well Did followed along the rail, and Good Friday Three (Jeff Ellis) was caught on the outside.

American Risk had full control of the momentum and reached the quarter in :27.2. He opened up by two lengths at the half in :57. Well Did kicked into a second gear to move around Privilege, quickly closing the gap between himself and the leader. Around the final turn and into the three-quarters in 1:27.1, American Risk and Well Did met eye-to-eye. The pair battled down the stretch when Well Did broke away, winning by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:57.

Well Did paid $10.10 to win. American Risk grabbed second and Solid Silver (Rodney Gillis) rounded out the triactor.

Well Did is an 11-year-old gelding trained by Paul Langille for owner Well Did Horse Owners Club of Lower Onslow, N.S. Well Did has now reached 50 lifetime wins and with his record of 50-32-38 in 282 starts, the son of Well Said has accumulated $192,166 in career earnings.
