Day two of the Global Symposium on Racing and Gaming started off with a panel discussing regulatory issues such as out-of competition testing and aftercare.
During that panel the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance presented $1 million to 23 TAA accredited organizations.
The next panel’s speakers discussed being prepared and identifying safety risks before they occur.
Filling the down time in racing and potentially attracting new fans with social gaming was talked about in the next panel either at the races or between meets.
RTIP students had a chance to sit down with racing industry professionals to visit and ask questions during the mentor luncheon.
Following lunch, Ray Paulick, publisher of the Paulick Report, was awarded the second annual Stan Bergstein Writing Award by Barry Irwin, President of Team Valor.
The day finished off with panels on Cyber Security, followed by a report on the 12th annual Track Superintendent’s Field Day held at Del Mar in August.
Symposium attendees were invited to unwind from a busy day with an evening reception.
