A vote in the full Senate in Illinois on allowing slots at the state’s six tracks could come as early as today, as the Senate Executive Committee voted yesterday to
approve SB737.
The measure also would expand casino gambling. It would require 36 of the Senate’s 59 members for passage, and still would need a 60% majority vote in the House.
The bill could still then face a veto from Governor Pat Quinn, who opposes expanded gambling.
