Driver Brian Carpenter recorded his 2,000th career victory on Friday, Nov. 5th at Maywood Park as he guided the aptly named Itsallaboutwinning to a neck decision in Maywood Park’s 10th race.
Sweeping into command just after the quarter mile mark Carpenter and the five-year-old Dennis Luehrs trained gelding then held off the late move of MM West as they hit the wire in 1:58.2 for the milestone victory.
The Indianapolis, Indiana born horsemen is currently sixth in the standings at Maywood Park and is enjoying a fine season at Balmoral Park as well.
“My dad got me started working with the horses when I was a little kid,” said Carpenter. “I always wanted to become a driver right from the start so hitting a milestone like this feels pretty special.”
