Spicey P could not be stopped on his way to the winner’s circle in the Saturday afternoon (Nov. 5) featured pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Jason Hughes rushed his charge to the lead from post 4 in the $3,150 Preferred 2 Pace and strolled through unchallenged fractions of :28.4, :58.2 and 1:27.2 before stopping the clock in 1:55. Nogreatmischief (Driven by Walter Cheverie) was four-and-three-quarter lengths back in second with Boys Turn (David Dowling) completing the triactor ticket. Robi Hughes of Stratford holds the ownership papers of Spicey P, a son of Up The Credit-Sydney Seelster.
Driver Marc Campbell dominated the program with four winners on the day. Campbell scored with Mystical Gal (1:56.2 winning mile) from the Oakes Stable of Warren Grove, The Time To Win (1:56.3) for trainer Ron Matheson, Oh To Be Me (1:59.3) for the veteran pacer’s 39th win for trainer Stacey Lund, and with Talk Some Smack (1:59.4) for trainer Todd Walsh.
