Pappy Go Go Pops At Plainridge

A patient drive by Drew Monti was beneficial to Pappy Go Go who had much leg left late to capture the $17,500 featured trot at Plainridge Park on Friday afternoon (Nov. 5).

Northern Sultan (Mike Stevenson) seated Joey Bats (Kevin Switzer Jr.) and Pappy Go Go (Drew Monti) and coasted to the half in :57.4. At that point Massive Lightning (Nick Graffam) had motored up first-over and was pushing the issue to three-quarters. This duel lasted until the top of the turn where Massive Lightning tired which allowed Joey Bats off the pylons. As Joey Bats drew outside of Northern Sultan, Pappy Go Go followed and then tipped three-deep in mid-stretch and flew by everyone to win by a nose in 1:56.2.

It was the seventh win of the year for Pappy Go Go ($5.40) who is owned by Michael Goldberg Racing. Jeff Lieberman trains the winner.

In the co-featured $15,000 conditioned trot, class-dropper Theresademoninme (Jay Randall) drafted fifth for most of the mile until making a move off cover in the last turn and bolting down the lane to win in 1:55.2.

It was the 51st lifetime win for the venerable Theresademoninme ($8.80) who is owned by the Scheigert Stable and trained by Amanda Kelley.

Randall ended the day with two driving wins as did Nick Graffam.

Live harness racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Sunday (Nov. 7) with post time at 1:00 p.m.
