Windsor Hosts Trillium Series For Trotters

Two-year-old trotting fillies were in the spotlight at Windsor Raceway on Sunday evening as the border oval hosted a pair of $35,097 divisions of the Trillium Series.

Youre Still Theone extended her win streak to four-in-a-row in the opening tilt for trainer/driver Wayne Henry. It was the second consecutive Trillium Series score for the daughter of SJs Caviar.

The youngster sat third to the quarter pole before jetting to the top and laying remaining fractions of 1:01 and 1:31.4 en route to a career-best clocking of 2:02.2. It was more than four lengths back to runner-up Zorgwijk Java. Another Henry trainee, Napanee Seelster, finished third.

Sent off as the 1-5 favourite in the six-filly affair, Youre Still Theone improved to 4-1-1 in 12 starts for the partnership of Daniel McCann, Henry Stable and Ron & Liz Waples. The $26,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale purchase has banked $51,845 to date.

L Dees Creditreport picked up her second Trillium Series trophy of the season thanks to her 2:01.2 triumph in the second division. Driven by Dave Wall, the Credit Winner miss rallied from just off the pace to win in going away fashion.

Wall tucked his charge into an early four hole, and she maintained that position to the mid-way point of the mile. She improved to third at three three-quarter pole and held that position at the top of the stretch before turning on the afterburners in the closing strides.

She uncorked a :29.1 final frame to win by just over a length for owner Ely Iversen of Moffat, ON. Daylon Mystique, who was sent off as the 1-2 favourite, was second best and Friendly Amigo rounded out the top three.

Ira Fisher conditions the youngster, who has constructed a 3-1-1 record in just nine lifetime starts. Her bankroll jumped to $43,317 with the win. She was purchased for $26,000 at last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale.

In other Sunday evening action at Windsor Raceway, veteran pacer Atom Love N extended his win streak to five-in-a-row for owner Cassie Nantais of Windsor, ON.

Doug McNair rolled the 11-year-old son of Sokys Atom through panels of :27.2, :58.1 and 1:28.2 en route to the 1:57.4 victory. The veteran, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Chris “Gunner” Haskell, won for the 50th time in his career.
