George Dennis had his biggest win night of his career thanks to a six-win performance Tuesday evening at Dover Downs. It also helped earn the veteran reinsman the 5,000th win of his driving career.
Dennis, who had a drive in all 15 races, guided the winners of six of his first eight starts. He clicked with PJ Hanover (1:55.2) before notching the milestone win with Willow Mill Faith (1:54.3). He also tacked on victories with Paradise Skies (1:58.3), Casa Miasa (1:55.3), Tammysmist (1:56.1) and Fly Me Courageous (1:55).
The six-win performance put his yearly win total at 199 while his lifetime haul climbed to 5,004 by the end of the card. He recently surpassed $38 million in career earnings.
In the $15,500 Mares pace feature, Tony Morgan added another victory to his career total of more than 15,000 wins, moving Duneside Chella into the lead on the backstretch and then pulled away to an easy triumph for trainer Ryan Bailey. The victory was the sixth this season for the Bob Bailey-owned Duneside Perch-Graceful Model four-year-old. She has won three of her last five outings. Feeding Frenzy (John MacKinnon) was runner-up. Quik To Fool You (Vic Kirby) took third.
