David Kelly trainees bookended the winner's circle appearances on Saturday, Nov. 25 at Century Mile as part of a training triple to lift the horseman into the track's dash win lead for the year.
Kelly's wins came courtesy first race winner Panda Beer (1:56.2; $46.30), HF Thegreatpumpkin (1:55.2; $3.00) in the third and the appropriately-named finale winner Show Stop (pictured above winning in 1:54; $11.30). Mike Hennessy guided Panda Beer to victory, while Kelly handled the lines himself in the other two tallies.
On the earnings side, Kelly has reached a new personal best with his trainees banking $575,010 on the season thus far.He's four wins off his personal seasonal best of 79 wins set last season. Lifetime, he's won 433 races and sports $2.4 million in trainee earnings.
The training triple lifted Kelly over Brandon Campbell on the Century Mile dash win leader board. Kelly now sports 32 wins at the Edmonton area oval on the year, one ahead of Campbell.
