Travis Cullen put together another productive night at Northlands Park on Friday thanks to a training/driving hat trick that started with a little help from the Judges’ stand.
Cullen and his charge, M G Stormy Knight, finished second-placed-first as a result of Lo Tengo being first-placed-sixth for causing interference to another foe in the late stages of the mile. Cullen, who owns M G Stormy Knight with Jasmine Nicholson of Edmonton, AB, returned to victory lane two races later in Race 4 with Classy Locomotion. The daughter of Camotion, who is owned by Cullen, rallied from out of the clouds to win by a neck in 2:02.1. Cullen also took the curtain closer with Ronald McLeod’s Louisville Elmer in 1:57.1.
In just his third season of driving, Cullen has already racked up 40 driving wins and 35 training victories this season – and both of those numbers are personal bests in a single season.
