Three divisions of the Trillium Series for three-year-old filly pacers went postward on Sunday evening at Flamboro Downs, with each division worth $22,947

In the opening tilt the Phil Coleman-trained Keepers Destiny roared away to win in a career-best clocking of 1:54.3 – a mark that took three seconds off her previous record. The homebred daughter of Intrepid Seelster-Keeper Flyin inhaled raced favourite Allstar Salute at the three-quarter pole and drew off to win by more than five lengths. Gargantua Hanover was second and Allamerican Damsel took home the show dough.
Merlin Howse of Langton and Casie Coleman of Cambridge, ON share ownership on the sophomore, who has put together a 6-6-3 record in 20 starts after going unraced as a rookie. The lion’s share of Sunday’s purse bumped her lifetime earnings to $68,488.
Jody Jamieson used similar tactics to take the next division with the Blair Burgess-trained Apricot Brandy, who sprinted away to win by more than four lengths in a time of 1:54. Pretty Thing set most of the pace and held on for the runner-up award while Northern Duchess rounded out the top three.
The daughter of Real Desire-Armbro Apricot, who is owned by Robert Burgess of Campbellville and Karin-Olsson Burgess of Milton, ON, didn’t race in her rookie season but she has put up a 6-6-5 record in 23 starts this year. She has banked $130,554 to date.
Trainer Mark Steacy and driver Jody Jamieson joined forces to take the final Trillium Series split with Star Of Show. The Astreos-Star Siren filly did most of the road work en route to delivering the 1:54 decision. St Lads Popcorn, who was a head back in second, was game in defeat and Jinglejanglejingle was a distant third.
Peter and David Heffering of Port Perry, ON own the Tara Hills Stud Ltd. homebred, who won for the seventh time this season. The 10-time winner has stashed away more than $158,030.
