Driver Brady Sweet made sure to find the shortest route around the historic oval with Burn Out Hanover in the Sunday afternoon (Nov. 20) feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Sweet teamed the Jeff Holmes trained Burn Out Hanover to a perfect two-hole trip to win the $3,500 feature in 1:57.4 over Stash It Away (Marc Campbell) while Spicey P (Jason Hughes) and Mantario (David Dowling) were in a deadheat for third. Stash It Away was hustled the lead in the top event from post four while Burn Out Hanover guarded the rail to sit second through splits of :29.1, :59.4 and 1:28.1. Sweet launched Burn Out Hanover up the passing lane during the stretch drive to deliver at 6-1 odds for owner Orwell Bay Stable.

The seven-year-old gelding by Well Said has eight wins this season and 36 lifetime with $130,332 in career earnings.

Southwind Arturo [pictured above winning on Sept. 1] captured the $2,800 Open Trot as his fifth victory in a row. The Marc Campbell trainee got away fourth off of the car and was 4-1/2 lengths off the lead at the :29.1 opening panel. Campbell pulled Southwind Arturo first up just before the :58.3 to challenge leading Mile Hill Willie (Gilles Barrieau). Southwind Arturo cleared and lead the field by 1-1/2 lengths at the 1:29.1 three-quarters. Jessiejesorjessica (David Dowling) gave chase through the stretch, but was unable to catch the three-year-old Muscle Hill colt. Southwind Arturo won in 1:58.4 by a length over Jessiejesorjessica and Freddie (Walter Cheverie) finished third.

Southwind Arturo has won five of his 14 starts this season for owners Robin Burke and Natasha Campbell.

In the third feature race on the card, the $2,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred condition pace, favoured Woodmere Rollily (Corey Macpherson) took her position on the rail in the full field of eight. As the gate pulled away, Elm Grove Mistress (David Dowling) was the first to the front and Woodmere Rollily settled in for the pocket trip. Elm Grove Mistress set the pace with an opening quarter in :28.3 and half in :58.1. A first-up Jm Sportsfan (Steven Shepherd) kept Woodmere Rollily locked on the rail through the three-quarters in 1:27.4. In the final turn, the five-year-old mare was able to find room to pop off the rail. It was a battle to the finish for Woodmere Rollily and Elm Grove Mistress, but Woodmere Rollily prevailed in a 1:57.3 victory by a quarter of a length. Elm Grove Mistress finished second and The Time To Win (Marc Campbell) snuck up on the inside to grab third.

Woodmere Rollily is a daughter of Rollwithitharry trained by Melissa Rennie for owners Marsha Knox, Cory Livingston, and Kyla MacDonald. She collected her 12th win of the season and 21st lifetime with $75,048 in career earnings.
