Horseman John MacDonald put on a driving clinic Sunday night winning six of the 15 dashes on Rideau Carleton Raceway's harness racing program

MacDonald kicked off the card on a winning note with the Sheila Meldrum-trained Rg Queensmagic ($8), who was making her first start in one year. His next win came in the fourth race with Western Senator ($8.10) for trainer Luc Loyer.
MacDonald then score back-to-back victories in the seventh and eighth races with streakers J V S Ring ($3.10) for Gary McDonald, a three-time winning trainer on the card, and his own pupil Caliban Hanover ($4.60). J V S Ring notched his sixth straight win while Caliban Hanover score his fourth in a row since arriving in Ottawa from the East Coast.
MacDonald provided McDonald with another victory in the 10th race aboard Santas Special ($21.80) and then won the next race with Tyber King ($5.80) for the gelding's new conditioner Sebastien Giroux.
MacDonald ranks among Canada's top 10 drivers for wins in 2011 and tops the leaderboard at Rideau. The Russell, Ont. resident is just four wins shy of hitting the 300-win mark this year and is closing in on 2,300 wins lifetime. MacDonald, who in the midst of his sixth straight million dollar season, has banked nearly $11.7 million over the course of his career.
