Gord Brown engineered a 19-1 upset in the $7,000 Xtreme Sprint at Kawartha Downs on Tuesday, and

his ticket to the winner’s circle was the Gary McDonald-trained Coronet Hanover.

The 10-year-old son of Artsplace rallied from out of the clouds to take the five-eighths of a mile “sprint”, and he covered the untraditional distance in a time of 1:12.1.

Brown and Coronet Hanover got away next-to-last in the eight-horse field while Linatawa N, Doll R General and Maxwells Gold were involved in a three-wide battle to the quarter pole. Linatawa N eventually cleared to the top, and he sported a four-length lead at the mid-way point.

Coronet Hanover was three-wide and driving at the half, and his late surge earned him the victory by three-quarters of a length over Linatawa N. Countyline Cam rounded out the top three finishers.

Macadream Stable of Ottawa, ON holds the ownership papers on Coronet Hanover, who has put together a 7-for-31 record this season after a dismal 0-for-11 campaign in 2009. The 31-time winner went over $200,000 in earnings with his score in the Xtreme Sprint.

Here’s how points where distributed to tonight’s starters:

Coronet Hanover - 50 pts
Linatawa N – 25 pts
Countyline Cam – 12 pts
Doll R General – 8 pts
Wealth Of Nations – 5 pts
Widger Place - 4 pts
