The focus was on freshman trotters Tuesday at Dover Downs, as the second leg of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund went postward featuring a trio of $20,000 divisions.

In the first division, Winbak Charles M and driver Jeff Fout were the apparent 2:01.3 winners, but because of a racing infraction on the last turn the trotter was denied the win. Boos The Boss, who was second under the line for driver Allan Davis, was then placed first. Winbak Charles M was guilty of coming out causing LGs Pride, handled by Jim Morand, to take back resulting in the placings. LGs Pride was placed second, with Winbak Charles M remanded to third-place.

Bobby Myers bred and trains Boos The Boss, a Don Boss Vita-Circle M Yankee gelding, who visited the winner’s circle for the first time.

Call Me Hal had no trouble winning the second $20,000 DRBF freshman trot. Vic Kirby was never tested as the altered son of CR Commando-Call Me Hazel posted his second straight win and third this season notching a 2:03.4 victory for breeder/owner Winbak Farms. Winmando finished second in front of Odessa who took home show honours.

Jonathan Roberts driving I Like My Boss enjoyed a perfect trip racing behind leader Whichwayrightrleft until turning for home. I Like My Boss then zoomed along the passing lane to shoot past en route to a 2:01.2 victory over Whichwayrightrleft and Bosston BHZ.

Trainer Bob Shahan shares ownership in the Don Boss Vita-Vita Wild One gelding who is now 2-for-2 in his career.
