In Secret Soars At Flamboro

Once fed racetrack moving toward the final turn, In Secret strode clear of a tiring pacesetter to score in the $11,500 Preferred 2 Handicap Trot on Tuesday (Nov. 17) at Flamboro Downs.

The Fixer flew to the front from post 7 while pylon-starter Sicario secured the pocket to a :28 opening quarter. Majestic Brayden angled first over from third moving to a :58.1 half with Ole Jack Magic tracking cover from second over and In Secret racing third over.

Up the backside as Majestic Braydon drew alongside The Fixer, driver Jonathan Drury launched In Secret three wide and gobbled ground to three-quarters in 1:27.2 before sweeping to the lead into the final turn. By the top of the stretch In Secret opened two lengths and extended to a four-and-a-quarter length advantage at the finish of a 1:57 mile. The Fixer gave chase from second while Majestic Brayden held third.

An eight-year-old gelding by Deweycheatumnhowe, In Secret won his fourth race from 18 starts this season and his 41st from 159 overall, earning $901,401. Carmen Auciello conditions the $6.20 winner for owner CTC Stable.

Bettor Trix N proved best in the co-featured $10,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Handicap Pace, drawing away to a 1:56.1 victory. Driver Scott Coulter sent the six-year-old Bettors Delight mare to the point from post 2, leading to a :27.3 opening quarter. Saulsbrooke Jessie mounted a first-over challenge to the leader heading to a :57 half but began to retreat as Bettor Trix N accelerated to three-quarters in 1:25.1. From there the J. R. Plante trainee scooted clear of her competition, hitting the finish four-and-three-quarter lengths better than Buttermilk Hanover rallying for second. Pocket-sitter Larjon Legacy finished third.

Owned by Curtin Anz Stables, Bettor Trix N won her fourth race from 23 starts this season and her 18th from 76 overall, earning $206,502. She paid $7.70 to win.
