Brandon Webster celebrated his first driving victory with his own trainee P H Littlecam in Saturday afternoon's opener at Charlottetown Driving Park.
The 21-year-old Morell, P.E.I. resident, who has trained 17 winners over the last three years, was making just his fourth driving start.
Insiders P H Littlecam and Webster gave way to the Mark Bradley-driven Yankee No More around the clubhouse turn and played follow-the-leader until making their move near the third quarter mark. P H Littlecam edged by the early leader around the final turn and then drew off to win by five lengths in 1:59.2. The 2-1 second choice paid $5.90 to win. Slight favourite Edgwater Shadofax and Mike Stevenson followed eight lengths behind in third.
The winning six-year-old Million Dollar Cam mare is owned by Aubrey Webster.
