Mill Creek Donates To Adoption Program

Mill Creek Farm of Saratoga is donating a 2022 season to their new stallion Coraggioso, the 2012 New York Sire Stakes champion, to the Purple Haze Standardbred Adoption Program said owner Anne Morgan.

In addition, Mill Creek will be donating five per cent of all paid stud fees for Coraggioso to the Purple Haze Standardbred Adoption Program.

"We are thrilled that New York Breeders recognize the need to retrain and rehome their Standardbreds when they are done racing," said Betty Holt, executive director of the program. "Anne and her beautiful Mill Creek Farm have committed to that endeavour and we hope other breeders make that same commitment in the future. By retiring and retraining, we protect our much loved racehorses and transition them into new careers and loving homes."

"The Purple Haze Standardbred Adoption Program appreciates every donation we receive but this ongoing open-ended gift is very generous and provides continuous income for our horse's futures and I can't express how much this means to me and to the program," said Wanda Polisseni, the program's founder. "I truly appreciate this wonderful act of compassion. Thank you!"
