Swan Legacy released Lite The Candles before the quarter, then blew by him in the Lightning Lane to capture Wednesday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $17,778 conditioned trot.
Once Jeremy Indof pointed Swan Legacy to the Lightning Lane, he drew off to score in 1:55.1. Brace For Landing (Anthony MacDonald) rallied for second, beaten 3-1/4 lengths, with Barn Hall (Aaron Merriman) third.
Todd Keith owns and trains Swan Legacy, a seven-year-old Swan For All-Ladylike Volo gelding who boosted his career earnings to $308,228.
In Wednesday’s $13,889 Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association (GLADA) Trot, Allen “The Sisco Kid” Sisco and longshot Golden Compass seized the early lead and held off the 1-2 favourite Tequila Talkin and Michael Burke to pull off the 18-1 shocker.
Burke was bidding for his first win in a purse race in nearly three decades, but Sisco had other ideas. He dug in when Burke attacked from the pocket and downed him by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.2, matching Golden Compass’ career best. Resolute Bay (Pete Stratton) and Royal Line (Christina Johnson) completed the ticket.
Sisco trains Golden Compass, a six-year-old Sebastian K S-Zette Angel gelding who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $182,442, for Oldford Racing LLC and Allen Sisco Stable.
Hunter Myers and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. each piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Thursday, Nov. 14 when the 13-race program features a pair of carryovers: $233.63 in the Early Pentafecta (race four) and $902.74 in the Pick 5 (race nine). First post is 12:45 p.m.
