The 2025 racing season at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway came to a close with Brookdale Johnny going back-to-back in the $5,100 Winners Over Pace on the Tuesday, Nov. 11 Remembrance Day program.

Paul Langille slid the gelding in fourth early while Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy) and Doc Awesome (Corey MacPherson) went to war up front, stringing out the field in a :27.2 first panel with Sauble Attack landing on the lead. Brookdale Johnny made his move nearing the half in :58 and was in front within a quarter-mile, taking over past three-quarters in 1:27.3. Doc Awesome popped the pocket to follow him on the backstretch, but Brookdale Johnny fired home in :28.2 to keep that rival 2-1/4 lengths back in a 1:56 victory. Doc Awesome was second over Sauble Attack.

Phil Sizer trains Brookdale Johnny, a son of Rockin In Heaven-Brookdale Gia, for owners Doug Polley Sr. and Doug Polley Jr. of Amherst, N.S. The five-year-old is now 23-for-114 lifetime with $161,460 in earnings. He paid $3.50 to win.

The victory was one of two on the program for Langille, who also engineered a sharp 1:56.2 score with Brokeandoutofgas ($3.50) in the Windemere Farms Pace in Race 8 for the Tammy Collings-trained mare’s third straight win.

A Langille double was not enough to close the gap in the drivers' race, however, as MacPherson strengthened his late-season push with a driving hat trick to claim the title. He clicked with Louie The Great ($2.70) in 1:59.3 in the fifth-race PCHC Sales & Promotions Committee Pace for trainer Les Waite, Princess Halo ($3.50) in the sixth-race P.E.I. Harness Racing Industry Association Pace in 2:01.3 for Garth Cole, and Going Yard ($17.20) in the ninth race for the mare's third straight win for trainer George Rennison in 1:59.3.

MacPherson finished the season with 58 driving wins. Langille was second at 56 victories, followed by David Dowling in third at 55 winners. Trainer Earl Watts won the conditioning title with 24 wins, one ahead of Sizer with 23 winners in 2025. Collings finished third with 19.

Jaycob Sweet posted a driving double for the Jeff Lilley barn, winning with Bettim Alive ($2.90) in 1:58 in the Universum Pace and the Marc It Up ($25.40) in 1:59.1 in the 12th-race finale.

Longshots lit up the tote board throughout the card. Twin Turbo Diesel ($28) weaved through traffic to take the Remembrance Day Pace in the opener in 2:01.2 for trainer Joe Baxter and driver Murphy. The fireworks really started in the second race when Elm Grove Tuxx ($79.20) out-kicked his foes late for driver-trainer Dana Sweet in the Prince County Horsemen’s Club Pace in 2:03.3. Melody Maker ($40) was another high-priced winner in Race 10 for driver Ryan Desroche and trainer Greg MacInnis in 1:57.3.

Other winners on the card included Run For The Money ($10.30) in the Red Shores Pace in 1:59.2 for trainer-driver Brady Sweet and K D Overdrive ($2.50) in the fourth-race Happy Retirement Hemingway Pace with a 2:00.2 clocking for trainer-driver Kyle Mason.
