Bellsandwhistles retook the lead with a confident quarter-pole move and made it stand up in the slop as he captured Monday’s feature at The Meadows, a $12,000 Conditioned Trot.

Tony Hall gave Bellsandwhistles a :30.1 second-quarter breather, which helped the four-year-old Muscle Massive-Sierra Belle gelding stay strong through the stretch and score in 1:55.3. When Dawson Springs finished second by three-quarters of a length, it gave trainer Scott Betts the Exacta sweep. Dr Judge completed the ticket.

Timothy Betts, Denise Barner and Chester Hoffman campaign Bellsandwhistles.

Brady Brown, Dave Palone, Jim Pantaleano, Mike Wilder, Hall and Betts each fashioned a double on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Tuesday when the program features a trio of rich wagering opportunities: a $5,000 total-pool guarantee in the Pick 4 (races 3-6); a $1,363.18 carryover in the Pick 5 (races 2-6), and a $1,049.11 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 p.m.
