Adding to excitement of Kane Memorial night at Batavia Downs on Saturday night (Oct 6.) was the career milestone win by reinsman Dan Noble.

Noble, an Ohio native, reached the 3,000 career-win mark when he guided heavily favoured King Otra ($2.50) to gate-to-wire score in the fourth race of the evening.

The 29-year-old Noble was quick to thank his father, Sam “Chip” Noble III.

“He taught a lot and he’s had a big influence in my driving career,” Noble said. “I also want to thank everyone that has given me the opportunity to drive for them.”

Noble was the dash-leading driver in 2011. His 773 victories bested George Brennan by 19 wins. This year Noble is currently tied for fifth with 446 wins. Dave Palone leads all drivers with 559 winner's circle visits.

In Saturday's main event, the $50,000 Robert J. Kane Memorial Pace, One More Laugh nosed out Hypnotic Blue Chip (Ray Fisher Jr.) for the 1:52.1 victory. Jeff Gregory drove the $2.5 million earner for trainer Ray Schnittker. Classic Rock Nroll (Noble) and Feel Like A Fool (Montrell Teague) finished within a length of the winner in third and fourth.

One More Laugh paid $9 to win as the 7-2 third choice. The five-year-old McArdle gelding is owned by his trainer, Creative Racing Stable Co., and J And T Silva Stables LLC.

Gregory and Schnittker also teamed up to win the $12,500 Brian Schoeder Memorial Trot with millionaire Neighsay Hanover in 1:58. Big Baller (Noble) and Ziegfeld (Shawn Gray) finished over two lengths behind in second and third.

The favourite paid $2.60 to win.

The six-year-old Muscles Yankee gelding is owned by Schnittker, Theodore Gewertz, Charles Iannazzo, and Fam Alber Horse Racing LL.
