Trainer Murray Brethour enjoyed a night of perfection on Saturday winning with all four of his starters.
Brethour drove two-year-old Artiscape colt Comicbook Hero ($3.50) to a nine and three-quarter triumph, along with upsetters Lifetime Jewel ($50.90), a two-year-old Western Ideal filly, and Coopers Beach ($18.60), a three-year-old Western Ideal gelding, to a pair of narrow wins during Kawartha Downs' 10-race card. His freshmen trainees both earned their first career victories.
The Sunderland, Ont. conditioner also picked up a win at Woodbine Racetrack with five-year-old Mach Three son Mach Dreamer ($4.50), who was driven by Jack Moiseyev.
Brethour has won 57 times this year and is aiming for his fourth consecutive million-dollar season. Lifetime, he has recorded 1,072 wins with his starters earning over $11.1 million in purses.
