Fillies and mares dominated the Thursday (Oct. 5) evening card at Flamboro Downs with Exotic Dragon topping the action in the $11,000 Distaff Preferred.
Exotic Dragon and Travis Cullen set the pace throughout the mile with panels in :28.1, :57.4, and 1:25.4. Down the lane, stablemate Shoot The Whiskey (Ed Hensley) charged towards the wire to challenge Exotic Dragon, but Exotic Dragon stuck her neck out to win in the photo finish. Ahoy (Travis Henry) took the show spot in the photo for the win.
Jodie Cullen trains both the winner and second place finisher. Exotic Dragon is a five-year-old Custard The Dragon mare owned by Paul Sanders, Travis Cullen and Ronald Cullen. She earned her seventh win of the season and 26th career tally, producing $299,280 in career earnings. She paid $3.10 to win.
