The fourth session of the 2019 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale was held Friday night at the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion in Lexington, KY, and a pair of trotters dead-heated for being the highest-priced purchases of the evening.
Hip No. 512, Captain Corey, consigned by Peninsula Farm Inc., was purchased by Robert Lindstrom who was acting as agent for SRF Stable of Boden, Sweden. He was the first of two yearlings to fetch a price tag of $150,000 during the fourth session of the sale. The Googoo Gaagaa colt is the first foal out of Love You Most (1:55.2 - $374,542).
Hip No. 638, Stonebridge Danish, a son of Conway Hall who also commanded a final bid of $150,000, was purchased by Brixton Medical AB. The colt was consigned by agent Spring Haven Farm. His dam, Cream Puff, has also produced a full sister in Creamy Mimi (1:53.4 - $929,193).
Hip No. 578, Southwind Tyrion was halted for $145,000 by Ake Svanstedt from the Preferred Equine Inc. consignment. The son of Muscle Hill is the fourth foal out of the mare Taylor Jean (T1:55.3 - $78,211).
Hip No. 567, Lovey Belle fetched a final bid of $110,000 from agent Tony Alagna, who purchased the Chapter Seven filly from the Crawford Farms consignment. She’s the fifth living foal out of the Angus Hall dam, Somebody To Love (1:56 - $613,728).
Hip No. 561, Magic I Am was the only other horse during the fourth session to see for a six-digit sum. The $100,000 purchase was scooped up by John Butenschoen from the Crawford Farms consignment. The Kadabra colt out of the mare Shesa Priority is a full-brother to Prestidigitator (1:52.2 - $869,608) and last year’s O’Brien Award winner Illusioneesta (T1:55.4 - $348,124).
The 168 yearlings selling during the fourth session grossed a total of $4,581,000 for an average sale price of $27,268.
