Dover Downs' 43rd season kicks off this Sunday, Oct. 31 with another six-month long season. The Delaware capital city raceway will hold live racing six days a week with its major events carded for the month of November
.
Many of the leading figures of last season return. Corey Callahan emerged as a driving standout winning the most races, 267, including eight on one card. Josh Green won the leading trainer award with 68 triumphs. Three Of Spades turned in a strong season from start to finish while several distaff pacers and top class trotters exchanged victories all season long. Other leading candidates for the award were pacers Delivered From Zin and distaff standouts Shady Sabrina, Apache Dame and Boots Place. The leading trotters were Chosen Voyager and JM Vangogh.
Post time for the opening day card is 5:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday racing begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday racing starts at 4:30 p.m. There is no live racing on Fridays. Parking and admission is free. Reservations are suggested for the Winner's Circle Restaurant at 302-674-4600.
