In an article today by The Guardian, PEI trainer Dr. Ian Moore discusses why he has, for now, opted to concentrate solely on the conditioning of his horses over his duties at the Atlantic Veterinary College

.

Atlantic Post Calls reported last week that Dr. Moore will be taking a six-month leave of absence from the Atlantic Vet College and plans to spend the winter training at Southern Oaks Training Centre in Sorrento, Florida.

“The biggest thing was it just became totally unsustainable,’’ The Guardian article quoted Dr. Moore as saying in regard to juggling constant travel for his heavy involvement in harness racing with meeting his teaching commitments at the vet college.

“The sad reality of it for me is I enjoy both worlds but I can’t do both worlds . . . I only need one job and one thing to manage.’’

Dr. Moore has stated that he will be returning to the college in May of 2010.
