Juniors Series Continues At Colonial

Ricks Crossroads and Nine Innings scored respective second leg division wins in lifetime best times Wednesday afternoon in the Juniors Pacing Series at Colonial Downs

Ricks Crossroads, who was third through the first five-eighths, came first over just before the straightaway and paced beyond Little Water Tower and Rhapsody Rose in the stretch to win in 1:50.3. The four-year-old Dream Away gelding’s prior best was 1:52.1, which he set at Colonial as a freshman. Corey Braden, leading driver at the 2010 fall campaign, guided Ricks Crossroads for trainer Fran Raia II.

In the first $6,250 division, Nine Innings came outside before the turn and went from fourth to first in the quarter mile bend en route to a 1:51.4 one length triumph. The four-year-old Bettors Delight gelding collected his previous best winning time, a 1:53.4 effort, at Plainridge on September 7. Driver-trainer Todd Whitney directed the fast effort for owner Don Harmon.

Dustin Ingraham’s Jaavos Boy continued a solid fall campaign by capturing the $6,000 Winners Over Trot Wednesday afternoon in 1:54.1. The four-year-old S Js Photo gelding now has three wins, a second and a third at New Kent, nearly all in the meet’s toughest class. His other winning times were 1:53.4 and 1:54.3.
