Leamington Doles Out Awards

The 2020 Leamington Raceway meet came to a close on Sunday, October 25. In addition to the on-track action, the afternoon was highlighted by award presentations.

The winner of the Lakeshore Cup was Somehowsomeday, who is owned by Keith Cassell, trained by Fred Bourgault, and was driven to victory by Preston Shaw. To read a recap of the race, click here.

The Randy Kerr Legacy Award given by Cindy and daughters Lindsey and Ashley Kerr was presented to Donnie Rankin and Mike Morand. They were both good friends of Randy's, longtime Standardbred owners who showed dedication and hard work in the harness racing industry.

Also presented were the Top Driver and Top Trainer awards. For the second year in a row, the awards went to Marc St. Louis with 47 wins for the season and to trainer Danielle St. Louis with 14 wins.

To end the day, Nathan Bain and Nick Barnsdale were presented with their prizes for competing in the $500 youth handicapping contest, which was sponsored by USHWA and HoofBid.
