Laser Attacks From Woodbine

Anybody that has ever been to Woodbine Racetrack knows that the airplanes overhead come in very low given the track's proximity to Pearson Airport. According to a report, the low-flying aircraft have been the targets of potentially

disastrous 'laser attacks.'

As reported on metronews.ca, an unknown group of people have fired on aircraft from Woodbine Racetrack using green astronomy lasers which can temporarily disorient pilots.

“The cockpit lights up if you get a good hit," medical hospital pilot Cliff Rundle was quoted as saying. "The light draws your attention right to it, and that’s the problem. You’re no longer paying attention to your flight.”

Rundle stated that his helicopter has been hit three times with the beams, and each time it has been while he has been transporting patients in critical condition to Toronto hospitals.
