Stonebridge Hall Wires Flamboro Foes

Fresh off a 4-3/4 length, pillar-to-post win in London, TheStable.ca’s Stonebridge Hall ($17.40) used similar tactics to evade prohibitive 1-20 favourite So Not Cool in Wednesday evening’s (October 25) featured $9,000 top-level trot at Flamboro Downs.

Anthony MacDonald sent the four-year-old Stonebridge Lord gelding immediately to the front, and the pair clicked off fractions of :28.1, :59.2, and 1:28.3 while keeping first-over challenger Carmens Fluke (Travis Henry) at bay through the middle stages. Stonebridge Hall opened up on the far turn, turning aside Carmens Fluke, gaining separation on pocket rival Zorgwijk Queen (Scott Young), and sprinting off to put 3-1/2 lengths on runner-up So Not Cool and driver Bob McClure—who circled three-wide off stalled cover—for a 1:57.2 score. Zorgwijk Queen held third.

Amy MacDonald trains Stonebridge Hall, who earned his fourth win of the season and the sixth of his career.

Scott Coulter led all drivers with three wins on the 10-race program. The “Tan Tornado” teamed up with Rousey Ronda ($49.80, 1:57.3), Sporting Life ($23.40, 1:57.2), and Motown Jakpot ($12.40, 1:59.3).
