For the second consecutive week, Indiana Hall marched to the front and didn’t look back en route to winning Western Fair Raceway’s $15,000 Preferred Trot

Indiana Hall took charge from Post 4 in the Tuesday feature and rolled the field through panels of :27.4, :59.1 and 1:28 before using a :31-second final quarter to post the victory. The margin of victory was 1-1/4 lengths over Hour Lavec in 1:59. Watkins recovered from an early miscue and rallied to finish third.
Trevor Henry engineered the winning trip for the eight-year-old son of Striking Sahbra-Inverlochy, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Ian Downey. The gelding, who is now a 42-time winner, is quickly closing in on $700,000 for the S S G Stables of North Boston, NY.
Later on the card, Misty Moonstone eked out a narrow score in the $12,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred. The four-year-old daughter of Astreos-Access Hollywood rallied past the tempo-setting Keepers Destiny in the closing strides to post a quarter of a length triumph over that foe in 1:55.1. Camille rounded out the top three finishers.
Trained and driven by Peter Core for owners Donald and Heather McGregor of Camlachie, ON, the roan distaffer improved this year’s record to 9-3-5 in 33 starts with the win. She has stashed away more than $255,000 in lifetime earnings.
