Returning to the track after his fourth-place finish in the Atlantic Breeders Crown two weeks ago, Allbentouttashape rallied wide to win the featured $1,600 Winners Over Pace at Exhibition Park Raceway on Saturday afternoon

Slim N Sleek (Mike Downey) used the inside post position to her advantage to take control off the gate and post fractions of :29.3, :59.4 and 1:29.4. Meanwhile, two-time Maritime Breeders champion Allbentouttashape and driver Gord Hennessey, who got away fourth from Post 4, picked up cover from Thomasville Bodeen (Gilles Barrieau) at the half before moving three-deep past three-quarters. Allbentouttashape then sprinted home in :29.2 over a “good” track rated two seconds off to prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1:59.3. Thomasville Bodeen was the runner-up and Slim N Sleek ended up third.
Allbentouttashape paid $2.10 to win as the heavy favourite. The three-year-old gelded son of Quick Comeback-C A Lady, who sports a record of 10-3-1 in 15 starts this year with $52,608 earned, is trained by Sean Dooley for the Dooley Boys Racing Stable of Halifax, N.S. The 23-time career winner has banked nearly $130,000.
