Maddys Credit and driver Natasha Day teamed up for a gate-to-wire victory in the $5,500 Preferred 4 Pace at Leamington Raceway on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 2), giving trainer Cassidy Schneider her third win of the card.
Leaving out of the three-hole, Maddys Credit was the first off the wings and to the front ahead of Phone In (Garrett Rooney) and Mo Bettor (Jonathan Hahn). Maddys Credit controlled the clock through panels of :28, :58.3 and 1:27.4. The mare found pressure from favoured challenger Life Is Better (Scott Wray), but battled forward to hang on to the win in 1:57.1. Bolt Power (Braiden Reibeling) finished second and Phone In finished third.
Maddys Credit is a nine-year-old mare by Up The Credit, out of the Camluck mare Lucky Louisa. She recorded her fourth win in 12 starts this season and 16th lifetime, lifting her career earnings to $114,109. Trainer Cassidy Schneider co-owns the mare with Colonel Schneider Jr.
Maddys Credit paid $12.70 to win.
Day and Schneider clicked for victories earlier on the card with Royal Ship (1:57.3; $17.80) in the third and Docs Rock (2:04.2; $3.40) in the fourth. Day picked up an additional driving win with Big Bad Jenn (1:58.1; $14.20) in the fifth.
