With the streaking top class champion Surrealist not entered this week, Euchred went gate-to-wire to win the Sunday (October 2) feature at Inverness Raceway.
Leaving from the inside post in the $950 Winners Over, Euchred and trainer/driver Walter Walker led from start to finish, setting fractions of :29.2, :59 and 1:28 on the way to a 1:56.2 victory. Schooner followed one and three-quarter lengths behind in second while Unstoppable Speed overtook Kennairn Fame back in third. The field was reduced to just four starters with Tiger Town scratched sick.
The four-year-old Shadow Play-Tipsy Taters gelding earned his first win since posting back-to-back victories at Charlottetown Driving Park in mid-August that included a lifetime-best 1:55.2 mile. He has earned nine wins this year from 27 starts for local owner Kayla Habicht Walker.
