It has been reported that the thoroughbred beach racing event that was scheduled to take place on the shores of Atlantic City in New Jersey has been delayed until 2014.
An article by John Brennan in the Bergen Record states that even though Governor Chris Christie signed the legislation allowing the ‘American Palio’ event, organizers have delayed the beach racing event because of time constraints.
“We wanted to make a go of it, but we just ran out of time,” Monmouth’s Dennis Drazin told Brennan.
Gov. Christie signed the bill on September 20 and the event was to take place on the weekend of October 12.
Organizers are now hoping to hold the event next spring.
