Two-year-old fillies were in the spotlight Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park as pacers and trotters sparred in four divisions of the Ontario Sired Harvest Series.

Quebecoise took down the first division for pacers, and she did so in front-stepping fashion for driver James MacDonald.

He rushed his charge to the top from Post 6 and had the field chasing her through first-half fractions of :28.1 and :57.1. She came under heavy pressure around the final turn when race favourite Day To Party rolled up first over and gained the lead while racing parked past the three-quarter pole in 1:26. Quebecoise fought back, however, and used her :28-second closing speed to win by a half-length margin over Day To Party in 1:54.1. Just Call Me Song was third.

Shawn Steacy trains the daughter of Sunshine Beach-Hazes Zure Bet for Katherine Steacy, Hudson Standrdbrd Stb Inc and Conrad Leber. The win was the fourth of the season from six attempts for the career winner of $31,500.

Momentarily took the other $17,000 split, but unlike Quebecoise – she used her rallying skills to secure the win.

Bob McClure got away fifth with the 1-2 favourite while Ribbon Ridge rolled to the lead and stole away with sensible fractions of :28, :58.2 and 1:27.3. Momentarily followed cover around the final turn and then exploded home in :27.4 to win by two lengths over Ribbon Ridge in 1:56. B My Sunshine was third.

Trainer Dan Lagace co-owns the daughter of Control The Moment-Sun N Moon with his daughter, Brooke Lagace, and Ben Mudry. She’s racked up a 3-1-1 record from seven starts this season while banking close to $25,000.

Global News turned a two-hole trip into a 1:58.2 triumph in the first division for trotters.

Trevor Henry had her on the lead early as the opening quarter flashed up in :28.3, but they were quickly covered up by race favourite Saundra in the backstretch. Saundra then sped through middle splits of :58 and 1:28.2 before being attacked in the lane by Global News. It was Global News kicking home in :29.4 to win by four lengths over Da Royal Miracle. Complete Life recovered from an early miscue to finish third.

Sent off at odds of 7-1, the daughter of Archangel-Going Global improved her 2021 record to 2-1-1 from eight starts for trainer Blake MacIntosh who co-owns the rookie with Hutt Racing Stable and Stu MacIntosh. The filly has banked just shy of $30,000.

First timer Ladyflix picked up the pieces late and captured the second division for trotters in 2:00.4 for driver Sylvain Filion and trainer Susie Kerwood.

Felt Tip Marker rolled to the early lead and had the field chasing her past the quarter pole in :29.2. Her Grace K swept out of the three-hole and promptly sped to the lead before taking the field through middle fractions of 1:00 and 1:31. Silver Diamond came first over and Ladyflix was riding cover from second over. A :29.2 final quarter wound up earning Ladyflix the win by 1-1/4 lengths over Silver Diamond. Her Grace K finished third.

Sent off as the 7-5 favourite in her debut performance, the daughter of Muscle Mass-Watch The Show passed the initial test with flying colours for M And L OF Delaware, LLC.
