Driver Luc Ouellette has accomplished many milestones over his career, but he has his sights set on reaching one "magic number."

Following his 8,500th victory on Saturday night at Woodbine Racetrack, Ouellette reflected on the accomplishment and shared one of his life long goals.

“It means I’m getting closer to 9,000,” Ouellette told WEG Publicity. “All joking put aside, when I was a kid, I think the magic number was 10,000 and it's going to get harder to get to 10,000. I would have to say that the first 1,000 was probably hard and then somewhere in the middle it became real easy to rack them up real quick. Now, they are starting to be harder again. I am not really sure if I’ll get to 10,000, but that’s the number in my head so we are still going for it.”

The 47-year-old Campbellville, Ont. resident, who was voted Canada’s Driver of the Year in 2004, has accumulated 66 wins and over $1.6 million in purses earnings this year. Lifetime, he has amassed over $135 million purses.
